Handy info for providing quality print ready artwork.

The better your artwork the better the print result. Below is a quick overview.

  • BLEED

    2.5mm minimum. Certain jobs may require more. Please stay at least 3mm clear of trim sizes (Safe zone).
  • DIELINES

    Create a vector path and set the stroke to a spot colour. Name it clearly e.g. Cut or Score. Make sure overprint stroke is on.
  • PRINTER MARKS

    We don't require printer or crop marks.
  • RICH BLACK

    Set big solid black areas to C40 M30 Y20 K100.
  • DIGITAL OVERGLOSS

    Set to an overprinting spot colour and name it Gloss (case sensitive). Make sure overprint is on.
  • LARGE FORMAT VARNISH

    Set to an overprinting spot colour and name it Varnish (case sensitive). Make sure overprint is on.
  • KISS-CUT (FOR STICKERS AND DECALS)

    Create a vector path and set the stroke to a spot colour named Kiss-cut (case sensitive). Make sure overprint stroke is on.
  • GOLD & SILVER

    For a shiny gold or silver look set to a spot colour and name it Gold or Silver.
  • WHITE INK

    Set to an overprinting spot colour and name it White (case sensitive). It must be on the top layer of the artwork. Make sure overprint is on.
  • COLOUR PROFILES

    FOGRA39 when CMYK.
    AdobeRGB when RGB.
  • FONTS

    Embedded preferred - please don’t convert to paths/outlines.
  • OVERPRINT

    Black artwork/text set to overprint.
    White objects/text set to knockout.
  • PERFS, SCORES, NUMBERING ETC.

    Set to a spot colour and overprint. For any extras like perfs, numbering or hole punches please provide a VISUAL PDF (which shows these elements) and a PRINT PDF (which doesn’t include any of these elements).
  • FILE AMENDMENTS

    Any minor changes to supplied files will be done free of charge. Any significant changes required will incur a charge at $110 per hour. If chargeable work is required your Account Manager will contact you to check if you want Print Central to make the changes or if you would prefer to resupply your file.
  • LAYUP

    Single pages in numerical order.
    No spread pages.
    Don’t impose yourself.
